Privacy policy.
What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
This policy explains how we handle personal information. It covers everyone who uses this website: applicants, contestants, supporters who buy votes, people who contact us and anyone who simply browses.
Who is responsible
Miss NAA Pageant is responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at hello@missnaapageant.com or at Aboonyaa Gardens, Nsawam, Eastern Region, Ghana.
What we collect
We only collect what a specific task needs.
- If you apply to compete: your name, date of birth, contact details, location, education, occupation, the photographs you upload and the identification document you upload.
- If you vote: your name, email address and phone number, along with the payment reference, amount and channel returned by our payment provider.
- If you contact us: your name, email address, any phone number you give and your message.
- If you subscribe: your email address only.
- When anyone visits: standard server records including IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
What we never collect
We never see or store your card or mobile money details. Payments are handled entirely by Paystack on their own systems. We receive only a reference, an amount, a channel and a success or failure result. Nothing you type on Paystack's checkout page reaches our servers.
Why we use it
- To assess applications and arrange auditions.
- To credit votes to the right contestant and let anyone verify a vote against its reference.
- To answer your enquiries.
- To send pageant news, if you asked for it.
- To detect and investigate fraudulent or duplicated payments.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
What is published, and what is not
A published contestant profile shows her name, contestant number, hometown, photographs, biography, cause and vote total. Identification documents are never published. They are stored outside the public web folder and can only be opened by an authenticated member of the selection team, and every access is logged.
On the public vote verification page, supporter email addresses are partly hidden — enough to confirm a payment, not enough to identify the person.
Who else sees it
We share personal information only with organisations that help us run the pageant, and only what they need:
- Paystack — to process payments and issue refunds.
- Our hosting and email providers — to run the website and deliver messages.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
- Applications are kept for the duration of the edition and for two years afterwards.
- Payment and vote records are kept for six years, as accounting rules require.
- Enquiries are kept for two years.
- Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete information we no longer need to keep;
- stop sending you email — every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link;
- send you a copy of the information you gave us.
Write to hello@missnaapageant.com and we will respond within thirty days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that nobody else can make a request in your name.
Some records cannot be deleted on request. A completed payment, for example, must be kept for accounting purposes even if you ask us to remove everything else.
Cookies
This website sets a session cookie so forms work and so you stay signed in where relevant. It is essential and cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
If the organisers enable analytics, additional cookies from that provider may be set. No analytics or advertising scripts load unless an identifier has been configured.
Children
This website is not intended for children. Applicants must be adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
Access to personal information is limited to people who need it, protected by individual accounts and recorded in an audit log. Identification documents are stored outside the public web folder. Payment verification happens server to server. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects you we will tell you promptly.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will post the updated version here with a new date. Continuing to use the website after that means you accept the change.
