Voting rules.
How voting works, what it costs, what is not allowed, and how you can check any vote.
These rules govern public voting. By buying votes you accept them, along with our terms and conditions and refund policy.
1. Who may vote
Anyone may vote. There is no age, location or nationality restriction, and you do not need an account. You need a working email address and a payment method accepted by Paystack.
2. How a vote is created
A vote exists only after a payment has been verified. The sequence is:
- You choose a contestant and a vote package.
- You are taken to Paystack to pay by mobile money, card or bank.
- Paystack confirms the payment to our server directly.
- We check the amount and currency against your order.
- Only if everything matches are the votes credited.
An unfinished checkout creates no votes and charges nothing.
3. Current round
No voting round is currently scheduled. Dates are published here before voting opens.
4. Vote packages and prices
Vote packages for the current round have not been published yet.
Larger packages cost less per vote. Prices are fixed for the round and shown before you pay.
5. There is no limit
You may vote as many times as you wish, for as many contestants as you wish, in any round. Each purchase is a separate order with its own reference.
6. Every vote is checkable
Each payment produces a reference. Enter it on the vote verification page to see the contestant, the number of votes credited, the amount and the time. Anyone can check any reference — a total nobody can audit is a claim, not a result.
7. How totals are calculated
A contestant's total is the sum of entries in an append-only vote ledger. There is no editable total field anywhere in the system. A correction is recorded as an additional entry, never by overwriting history, and every manual adjustment requires a stated reason and a second administrator's approval.
8. What is not allowed
- Paying with a card or mobile money account that is not yours.
- Automated or scripted voting of any kind.
- Attempting to interfere with the voting system or the payment process.
- Reversing a payment after votes have been credited without contacting us first.
Votes traced to any of these are removed from the ledger, and the organisers may disqualify a contestant who is found to have arranged it.
9. If a payment fails
No votes are credited and nothing is charged. If your bank or mobile money statement disagrees with what the site shows, contact us with your reference and we will trace it.
10. If an amount does not match
Where a verified payment does not match the order amount or currency, votes are not credited automatically. The payment is held for review and the organisers contact you. This protects both you and the contestant you were voting for.
11. Refunds
Votes are not refundable once verified, except where a payment was taken in error. See the refund policy. Where a refund is issued, the corresponding votes are removed from the contestant's total.
12. Leaderboard visibility
The organisers may show exact counts, percentages, positions only, or nothing at all, and may freeze the public leaderboard before a round closes so the final hours are not driven by the scoreboard. Voting continues normally while standings are frozen, and every vote is still recorded and verifiable.
13. Votes are not the whole result
Public votes carry significant weight but are combined with the judges' independent scores. The two are recorded separately and neither can overwrite the other. The weighting is published before each round opens.
14. Changes
The organisers may amend these rules. Material changes are posted here and, where they affect an open round, announced on the website.
